Review: Grease
Posted on January 20, 2012 | No CommentsWith the January blues taking hold, there are worse things you could do (sorry, I couldn't resist) than go and see Grease. -
Review: Dirty Dancing
Posted on October 25, 2011 | No CommentsThe show is still written by Eleanor Bergstein who wrote the movie, it is the same storyline, the same songs (with a few extras thrown in) and the same characters - just a different cast and different medium used to tell the story. -
Review: Calendar Girls
Posted on August 31, 2011 | No CommentsThe stage adaptation of Tim Firth’s Calendar Girls, based on the real-life story of the Yorkshire Women’s Institute ladies who made a charity calendar, is at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow for its final tour. -
Review: Legally Blonde the Musical
Posted on August 24, 2011 | 1 CommentLegally Blonde tells the story of Malibu it-girl and fashion merchandising student Elle Woods, who stalks her ex boyfriend to Harvard Law School in order to prove to him she can be ‘serious’. It’s pink, fluffy, furry, glitzy, ditzy and uplifting. -
Review: Excess Baggage
Posted on August 21, 2011 | No CommentsExcess Baggage is funny and not very far fetched. I'm sure many people would have said "Sure!" if asked "Can you look after my bag for a minute? I'm just running to the loo." -
Review: The Prodigals
Posted on August 21, 2011 | No CommentsThe Prodigals is a cut down version of a full-scale musical but what is shown at the Gilded Balloon makes you want to see more. There are great costumes, props, sound and lighting alongside some fantastic choreography and original songs.
